Checklist to get a good start to your home renovation…

homechecklistSpend as long as you need on the design – Change orders and/or added work after the project can add up very quickly.
Have pictures for examples of style and products desired – this helps to make sure you get what you expect.
Have professional plans drawn up – and when doing a major renovation where the layout is being completely changed it is a good idea to have 3D drawings to help you visualize the space. This will also help get a more accurate bid of your project. There are too many options and everyone has their own idea of what should be used in your space. If it is documented everyone will be on the same page.
Check your contractor’s credentials – make sure they have a license, are insured, and check their references. It is a good idea to check a recent client and one from a few years ago.
Sign a project contract – this written agreement should note every aspect of the project. Some details could be the start and end dates, investment, style, design, plans, a guarantee of some kind, a clause that states the penalty for going longer due to the contractor.

L J Level was extremely communicative, worked with my renter, and did an amazing job with the remodel. Would hire again in a heartbeat. They truly went above and beyond.
