This past client has talked to me many times about the dissatisfaction of her kitchen. Their main goals were to update and open up the kitchen to the LR and DR areas, to add a center island, add more cabinet space.
So the solution was to take down the walls, add the island, and update cabinets. Our goal was to keep the kitchen as functional as possible through the entire project. We started by removing the walls, cabinetry and old soffits. Leaving the sink and base to keep that functional. Then scraped the ceiling to replace the popcorn texture. We upgraded the lighting to can lights, brought in power to the island, patched all the drywall. New texture on the ceiling. Painted ceiling and walls. Installed new quarter sawn white oak cabinets. Installed vinyl plank flooring, quartz countertops, new base trim in all open area.
The open space provides more opportunity to be engaged with those in the LR, KIT and DR at the same time.
